In this module of the Combat Sport Coach certification program, you will jump head first into the myth of normalcy and IQ. You’ll gain an understanding of its definition as a statistically drawn mean average, the social narrative around it, and how it impacts life trajectory. With the help of explicit measures, you will grasp where combat athletes stand on personality spectrums and why a tailored approach is essential to work with them.
You’ll also learn about core differences in learning and how to adjust your coaching style to work effectively with others. You’ll get insight into self concepts, avatars and the so called weirdness. Most importantly, for a healthy coach-athlete relationship, you will gain practical skills in distinguishing between ego and complex outbursts, and receive proper guidance on how to address them.
