Making of a champion — competition coaching program

What if your next coaching session could deliver more results than your last twelve combined? That’s the power of a hyper-specialised support.

4 weeks
advanced

The support that gets you there

Tailored competition coaching for BJJ/MMA fighters to reach life-changing heights.

Custom preparation strategy

The program is designed to rewire your mind and body to be able to see and act on the nuances of the game. By the 4th week, we develop a customised strategy that keeps you together under pressure. Your training routine will also be optimised to speed up muscle memory formation, reduce combat stress, and decrease your response time in competition.

Strength based approach

The purpose of this program is to restructure strength and resources, and complete the technical, social, and personal components you have in the game to get better results for your efforts. It is designed to be adjustable where needed and start with a 4-week core module that provide immediate results that can fuel further refinement.

From analysis to action

The 4-week program flows through a series of steps. Starting from understanding your competition history, motivators and invisible psychological makeup. Followed by the review and adjustment of your training structure, drill patterns, and competition routine. Finally arriving at a tailored plan that puts your strengths to better use and makes up for the missing pieces.

BJJ

MMA

``I tell you what, it went deep, but they really pushed me through that mess I had in my head. The best program ever!``

Laura M.

Featherweight Bellator fighter

Boxing

``Straight forward practices I could easily follow and use in my routine. The care and respect from the team was on a different scale.”

Rickson S.

Heavyweight fighter

In your competition journey

You might:

Can't get a grasp on what's working, when, and why

You might have found bits and pieces that seemed to bring gold, but all changed in the next round, and you just can’t pin down where to put the effort to stabilise your results.

Feel like you've hit the ceiling, but it's not the top

You’re usually doing well in competitions, but everything leaves your body in high-stakes fights, and none of the things you’ve tried could move the needle in other directions.

Although you believe you have it, it doesn't seem to kick off

Training for years, reading, meditating, watching interviews with champs and knowing all the motivational speeches exist, yet winning doesn’t seem to come to you.

Your path to gold

Program structure.

Week 1 - Mapping

The week starts with a foundational conversation about past competition experiences, the challenges faced and insights gained from prior tournament experiences.

We’ll talk about your current training and competition preparation routine, the available resources, and the internal and external motivators that impact your game.

The process continues after the session, the findings are shared and discussed via a dedicated digital platform. In the upcoming sessions, we will address the pieces that were identified during this work.

Week 2 - Planning

We’ll dig deeper into the technical-psychological side of things and discuss the ways in which your brain learns and drives your body into certain direction in response to an invasion. With particular focus on muscle memory formation and the specialities of combat stress versus performance stress.

Your training plan will be discussed in great detail, and the outcome will involve re-designing drills to support skill retention. Safety exercises will be introduced and a training hierarchy for competitions will be established.

This phase contains a wide variety of informational materials, including readings and exercises that span the week and require active engagement. You’ll be provided with full access to The Brain & Combat handbook to access the necessary information.

Week 3 - Building

We analyse your competition patterns and the changes when transitioning from training to competition. We’ll be discussing the variations in performance across different stakes and start to build your custom toolkit to manage the competition environment, physiological changes and different opponent types.

Before the session, it is necessary to provide video references on both a variety of past competitions, and regular sparing (if available). Your coach will conduct the analysis before the session using the videos sent and discuss the findings during the session.

Week 4 - Arriving

With the comprehensive understanding of your circumstances, mental and physical design and competition history, in the last session we’ll finalise your personalised competition preparation plan. The strategy will include both short-term, long-term, and on-the-spot methods. Where needed, further resources and support will be recommended.

The strategy will be subject to testing during the last week, with direct feedback exchange between you and the coach happening through the dedicated digital platform.

On-demand - Consolidating

Further sessions can be held to consolidate and refine the preparation strategy and follow up on the experience.

By this time, the change built up during the past weeks will already begin to show and the improvements will be evident in a more dominant game style, faster response, longer resistance, and more fluid fighting style.
